German Development Cooperation with Indonesia

The Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) is responsible for the planning and supervision of German development policies. In Indonesia, the BMZ is locally represented by the German Embassy. The ministry itself does not implement the programmes. In fact it coordinates the work of the so-called implementing organisations.

On behalf of the BMZ the following implementing organizations conduct programmes as part of the German Development Cooperation in Indonesia:

the “Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH“,

the “KfW Entwicklungsbank (KfW)“,

the “Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH (DEG)“,

the “Centrum für Internationale Migration und Entwicklung (CIM)“ and

the “Bundesanstalt für Geowissenschaften und Rohstoffe (BGR)“

A joint office of German Development Cooperation with representatives of all implementing organisations means short ways, efficiency and cost reduction. Additionally, close coordination with the German Embassy in Jakarta is assured.
